Naval Battle is a two player game where each players take turns firing into enemy occupied waters attempting to sink the opposing naval fleet.

[edit] How to Play

Before starting each player must decide the placement of their ships. Do this secretly on a piece a paper, on your computer or using the official Battleship game. The following ships need to be placed without any overlapping.

• 5 square ship X 1
• 4 square ship X 1
• 3 square ship X 2
• 2 square ship X 1

Decide who is going to be blue and red. Blue goes first by marking his first guess on the Blue board with a question mark (?), replacing the asterisk (*). Red will mark the shot as either a hit (O) or a miss (X), replacing the question mark on Blue's board. Red makes a guess on Red board and play continues in this fashion.

If at any time a ship is completely hit the player must announce that a ship was sunk and identify which ship it was.

This game requires both players to be honest about their ship placement. Be sure not to lose track of where your ships are suppose to be.

The winner is the first player to destroy the enemy fleet.

[edit] Advanced Rules

An optional rule to make the game play at a faster rate is to allow one shot for every friendly ship still afloat. Each player will make five guesses each turn. If a player loses a ship they only have four shots per turn, three ships allows three shots, and so on.

Another option is to have different ships than the standard setup. You could have a huge fleet of tiny ships or include ships even larger than the 5 square ship.

Be sure that both players are agreed on any changes to the rules before the game starts.
